Bird flu: US Could See Spike in Cases After Bird Migration Season

The stopover locations can act as hotbeds for the spread of bird flu, especially if they are near farmland, where infected birds can leave contaminated saliva and feces, transmitting the disease to poultry animals.

The male worker had been in contact with cows at a farm with infected animals. He experienced mild eye symptoms and has recovered, U.S. and Michigan health officials said in announcing the case Wednesday.
